Witsy

Witsy needs no account, and solo play sends nothing to our servers. Your games, scores and settings stay on your device and in your own iCloud. We only receive data if you join the optional Circles, and Google receives advertising data only if you choose to watch an optional reward video.

Playing on your own

Your game history, bests, XP, achievements, cosmetics and settings are stored on your device. If you use iCloud, a compact copy of your progress is synced through your own iCloud account so it appears on your other devices; we cannot access it. In Settings → Reset all progress you can erase the local and iCloud copies.

Circles and friends (optional)

If you join Circles, we create an anonymous profile with a random player ID, and a random sign-in token is stored in your Keychain. We store the nickname and Pip avatar you choose, your level and tier, the summaries of games you finish (game, mode, score, answers, level, duration and time) and your friend connections, blocks and reports. Game summaries and daily scores are deleted after 90 days. Other players can see your nickname, avatar, level, tier and weekly XP. There is no chat. We use this data only to run Circles and friends and to keep competition fair, and our servers run on Cloudflare, which processes data on our behalf. Circles and friends are for people 13 and older; the birth year you enter for this check is evaluated on your device and is not stored or sent. In Settings → Circles & privacy you can delete your Circles profile and all its server data immediately.

Advertising (optional reward videos)

Witsy shows rewarded video ads only, provided by Google through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. There are no banners and no interstitials, and nothing plays during a game. A video only appears after you tap a button that tells you what you get for it, and playing without ever watching one costs you nothing.

To select, deliver and measure those ads, Google may collect your device's advertising identifier (only if you allow tracking when iOS asks), your IP address (used to estimate an approximate location), information about the ads you see and tap, and diagnostic and performance data. Google processes this data under Google's advertising policies.

Your choices: before any personalized ad, iOS asks whether Witsy may track you (App Tracking Transparency). You can change this any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form asks for your choices first, and you can change them later in Witsy → Settings → Purchases → Ad privacy options. Refusing has no effect on the game. We do not use any other analytics, advertising or tracking services, and nothing is tracked without your consent. We never sell data.

Purchases

Witsy Plus purchases are handled by Apple. We don't receive your payment details.

What we don't collect

Your real name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, location, health data or device fingerprints.

Children

Witsy is a general-audience game. Solo play has no user interaction and needs no data. Circles and friends require a self-declared age of 13 or older; younger players keep all solo features and code-based challenges, which use no server data.

Your rights

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published here before the change takes effect.
