Privacy

Your data stays on your device.

DB Transport collects no personal information — no accounts, no profiling, no cross-app tracking. The only thing the app sends to a server is anonymous, aggregate click counts (no identifiers, no IP storage) so we can see which features are used.

Everything works offline

All timetable data is bundled in the app at install time, so it works entirely offline once downloaded.

Location

Optional, and used only to automatically select the most relevant route on the home screen. Your location is never stored, shared, or transmitted anywhere.

Feedback & messages

When you use the in-app feedback form, only your email and message are collected, solely to reply to you. Announcement messages are fetched from a public CDN; we don't track which you see or tap.

Do I need an internet connection?
No. Every timetable is bundled in the app, so it works fully offline — no signal needed on the ferry pier, in a lift, or on the bus.
Does it cost anything?
DB Transport is free, with no ads.
Which routes are covered?
Every Discovery Bay internal bus, external (DB ↔ town) route and ferry, plus the night buses — all in one place.
How do the Live Activities work?
Tap a departure to start a Live Activity — the countdown follows you to the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. Once the bus is moving it becomes a progress bar that follows you along the route, naming the stop you're approaching, and it alerts you when yours is next.
Can I use Siri with DB Transport?
Yes — try "Hey Siri, next bus to the airport" or "Ferry home". There's also a Control Centre button and a Home Screen widget for one-tap access without opening the app.
Does it show 12-hour or 24-hour time?
It follows your phone's clock format automatically. Prefer it the other way round? There's a manual override in Settings.
What languages does it support?
36 languages, including English, 繁體中文, 简体中文, and most of Europe and Asia. The app follows your phone's language automatically.
Is any of my data collected?
No personal data. The app sends only anonymous, aggregate click counts (no identifiers, no IP storage); location is optional and used on-device to pick your route. Everything else stays on your phone.
