How to get access to Claude Duet

Claude Duet is currently restricted to Anthropic customers located in the United States who hold active Pro or Max subscriptions. Anthropic distributes access through an invite waitlist linked on claude.ai.

Once granted access, you can use the service across several supported interfaces:

How Claude Duet works day to day

Claude Duet manages workflows through a single ongoing conversation thread that accepts both written text and voice input. You can describe an assignment in a short message, and the agent identifies which apps to coordinate.

To conserve plan limits, the agent inspects your connected accounts every few hours rather than querying them continuously. You can customize which updates you wish to receive and adjust the notification frequency.

When a background job finishes or reaches a point requiring input, Claude Duet issues a notification containing a summary of the outcome for your review.

Security protections and built-in limits

Claude Duet operates under strict safety protocols that prevent autonomous execution of consequential actions. The agent drafts and organizes work independently, but it presents a confirmation prompt before sending messages, signing legal paperwork, making payments, or deleting content.

Security mechanisms include a dedicated credential architecture where the agent never views user passwords or authentication tokens directly. A specialized classifier blocks transmission of government identity numbers and credit card details, while health and personal financial data require explicit user clearance.

Known limitations of Claude Duet

Anthropic notes that Claude Duet remains an experimental research preview with operational drawbacks. The agent can occasionally misinterpret message context, miscalculate task urgency, or overlook changes that occur between scheduled checks.
